An emotional Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance) Memorial Service in the Naval Academy’s Commodore Uriah Levy Center and Jewish Chapel this evening, led by Chaplain Creditor.
– Guest of Honor and inspirational speaker: 91-year old Holocaust Survivor Felicia Liban, who shared her harrowing tale of survival from Krakow, Poland.
– Among the candle lighters: Holocaust Survivor, USNA Class of 1961’s, and FOJC Board Member, Benno Gerson.
– Poignant remarks from Israeli Defense Force Navy LCDR Noam Bezalel, who presented his military coin to the heroic Ms. Liban.
– Special thanks to Anne Arundel County Yom Hashoah Coordinator and FOJC member Sarit Brosh and all who contributed to this moving community religious service.
– May the memories of all who perished in the Holocaust be a blessing.
