Tel Aviv District Police Commander, Major General Amar Peretz and some of his finest, along with New York and New Jersey current and former Officers for a tour of the United States Naval Academy’s Commodore Uriah Levy Center and Jewish Chapel.
They were here to participate in U.S. National Police Week events; which for this group includes extreme distance bike rides from New York City to DC to promote unity amongst law enforcement officials, professional forums and a remembrance service on Monday at the National Law Enforcement Memorial Monument.
61 Israeli Police Officers were slaughtered by Hamas on October 7th; a devastating casualty number for a small force. Each one of their names will be read aloud and remembered, along with all U.S. Law Enforcement Officers who fell in the line of duty in 2023. One Israeli Police Officer remains hostage.
While in the sanctuary, we recited a “Kaddish” for the departed and a “Misheberach” for those in need of healing and strength.
