Reflecting on the High Holy Days at the U.S. Naval Academy

“On Rosh Hashanah it is written … on Yom Kippur it is sealed.”
Happy Jewish New Year to all who celebrate.

– Wrapped up the High Holy Days in Annapolis at the United States Naval Academy.

– Thrilled to host former Jewish Midshipmen Club stalwart, USNA ’96’s Lt. Col. Brian T. Grana, USMC, Ret back where it all began.

– Us ol’ Hawaiian shipmates visited his Mameluke (USMC sword) at the Levy Center and Jewish Chapel, the only such weapon displayed there, alongside swords of other renowns like ADM Hyman Rickover (USNA ’22), father of our nuclear Navy.

– Super interaction with the Midshipmen of today, and of course, a visit to Chic and Ruth’s Deli to prepare for the 24-hour fast with a Pastrami and Corned Beef on Rye!
