Herm commanded an E-2C/HAWKEYE squadron, the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS HARRY S TRUMAN (CVN 75), the TRUMAN Carrier Strike Group and was Inspector General of the Navy.
Since his Navy retirement in 2018, he’s been deeply involved in the Jewish community, on the board of Tidewater Jewish Federation and chairman of our Jewish Community Relations Council, AIPAC, JINSA and as president elect for Norfolk’s Temple Beth El.
On a personal note … Herm and FOJC President Paul Becker were selected for promotion to Flag rank together in 2009! A GREAT reconnect for FOJC!
